Bravo to Michael!

Michael Kors has received last night the greatest award from  the Council of Fashion Designers of America, the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award. Soon,  the French will discover the subtle elegance of this designer with his well-cut , timeless pieces: the rumor says, he is to open a store in the 8th arrondissement, near the Madeleine, in Paris. Actually they already have met the man who was at the head of Celine from 1997 to 2003. You remember Renee Russo in the Thomas Crown affair? That is a great piece of  Celine by Michael Kors.

“I like two things, short shows and short speeches”, said Kors last night. His shows are always a great moment, a moment of truth where he might drill in an idea on Aids or environment. He is  true to the New York area (He was born on Long Island and after those years spent in Paris decided to come back), true to the business of clothes. I heard he was spending time in his stores, and knows some of the salespersons by their names. So much does he like his store that he will move it ten blocks South from 76th street to 67th street for a Spring 2011  opening.. to reach a better targeted clientele.

Welcome back to Paris Michael!
